The STory

Fermented was founded out of a desire to share wines that are more natural, flavorful, and more ethically farmed and crafted.

In seeking to promote families and farms we believe that there are three things that set us apart from other wine stores.

Curated – We taste through thousands of wines to find the best families and best bottles to place on the shelf. There is a reason and purpose for every wine that we carry.

Approachable – We make the process of finding wine easy and fun. By taking out the pretense and fear we have created an environment that encourages exploration

Comprehensive – We offer something for every type of wine drinker and represent every major wine region


Adam Danielson is truly a wine virtuoso.

But this savant’s expertise derives more from his lifelong hands on study of wine than from a series of certification classes. Originally from Seattle, but raised in Florida, Danielson began his restaurant career at the age of fifteen, bussing tables at an Italian restaurant. Soon after, he became intrigued by the world of wine and began his pursuit of wine knowledge, a study that he continues to this day.

Having worked for many years in restaurant management, Danielson was given opportunities to manage the wine programs of many reputable dining establishments in Amelia Island, Santa Barbara and Austin, including Brett’s Waterway Café, Zooker’s Café and Parkside Projects. All the while, he continued to voraciously explore wine literature, cultivate his palate by tasting and learning as much as he could firsthand from winemakers and producers. In fact, during his time in Santa Barbara, he volunteered often during the harvest in local vineyards and learned the process of winemaking in wine-production facilities, started a wine blog and even made his own impressive barrel of wine with Paso Robles Cabernet grapes.

Danielson brought his passion for fine wine — as well as his respect for small producers and the thoughtful and delicate process by which formidable wines are made — to Atlanta in 2014. After spending time working in some of the Top Restaurants in Atlanta he moved to the distribution channel to continue his experience and expertise by taking a job with the National Distributing Company. He is now the Founder and Curator at Fermented.

“This will always be a continual learning process for me. I’m looking forward to learning more about wine, building relationships with everyone I encounter. I relish the opportunity to promote family owned wineries who are making authentic, terroir driven wines while educating friends and clients about the beauty of fermentation.”

Now we are here and Fermented is our platform to introduce amazing people to amazing wines. Our mission is to make friends one bottle at a time. By loving people and breaking down the barriers to discovering great wines we will achieve this mission.

We believe wine can be transcendent. It can bring people together and it is the only alcoholic beverage that can be made without any human intervention. We fight for artisan wine and seek to be a force to help them thrive.

Our culture is one of a diligent pursuit of perfection. We invest love and generosity into our community through the humble act of enjoying wine with people.

Something for all – Whatever your region, varietal, style… we have something for everyone. Maybe not the brand from the kiosk at the grocery… but if you like that, we’ll guide you to something you LOVE.

Ancestral Wines – emphasize the purity of the grape with no use of oak or other influences on flavor. They use the same or similar methods being used prior to the 1800s to produce the purest expressions of the wines.

Traditional Wines: - more about the grape and place of the wines than they are style. They generally emphasize the balance of fruit, earth, and tannins and use less new oak.

Modern Wines – more about the fruit and intensity of the wines than they are the grape or the place. They generally emphasize style and use more new oak than their counterparts.
